Set up your SafeKey

The SafeKey is only for desktop / Citrix / locked-down hospital EMRs where you can't install our browser extension. If your EMR runs in Chrome, you don't need any hardware — just add the free Chrome extension.

Use a desktop Chrome or Edge browser to flash. Flashing isn't supported on Safari, Firefox, or phones — it needs the browser's USB serial access. (Once flashed, the dongle works on any computer.)

Get the hardware

The SafeKey runs on a LILYGO T-Dongle-S3 — an off-the-shelf USB key (~$15–20). Grab one from any of these:

Plug it in & flash

Plug the T-Dongle-S3 into a USB port on your desktop, then click below and pick its serial port. Flashing takes about 10–15 seconds.

Open NeoDoc & pair

Open the NeoDoc app on your iPhone and pair to the SafeKey. It hands over its encryption key automatically — nothing to type. Now dictate, and your note types straight into any EMR field on that computer.

Everything stays on your devices — the note is decrypted locally and typed in over a secure connection.
